Track-POD’s driver break management system provides granular control over break scheduling while ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies. The new setup clearly separates:
Go to Settings > Routing and Optimization > Drivers Break to access the enhanced options. The interface now distinguishes between long breaks, short breaks, and rest times, allowing precise configuration to fit operational needs.
The Long Break setting is the primary control for scheduling breaks during driving hours. You can either adjust the break duration manually or select from regulatory templates designed for the EU, US, Canada, Australia, and the Czech Republic.
These templates automatically adjust break settings to meet local labour laws and industry standards. Users can also customize these settings to better reflect regional or company-specific policies.
Breaks are scheduled based on driving time rather than fixed clock times:
For rest periods, a fixed schedule is maintained with rest starting at 8:00 PM, providing consistency in daily planning.
The Exclude Service Time toggle offers additional flexibility:
This option lets you align break management with your specific workflow.
Short Break settings become available only when Long Break is enabled and service time is included. The Subtract Short Break toggle deducts a short break from the total long break duration. For example, a 45-minute total break can be divided into a 30-minute long break and a 15-minute short break. The configuration for short breaks follows the same logic as long breaks for a cohesive management approach.
The original break settings have been relocated to the Long Break > Rest section. Here, you can set the rest period start time and duration, with a fixed rest start at 8:00 PM to ensure all drivers receive adequate downtime.
View breaks and rest times as distinct items under Home > Plan & Track > Sites alongside driver stops. If adjustments are made to the sites list — such as deleting or rearranging items — the break schedule resets.
Clicking the Optimize button recalculates routes and restores the break settings automatically.
Updated break information appears in Routes > [Specific Route] > List, ensuring drivers have current schedules at their fingertips.
Like in the desktop version, if the stops' order changes or is modified, the breaks and rest time slots will disappear.
Tap the Sort Stops button to refresh the list and recalculate the break settings.
These enhanced Drivers Break settings demonstrate Track-POD’s commitment to providing practical, regulatory-compliant solutions for modern delivery management. With separate long and short breaks, customizable service time options, and built-in compliance templates, you have the tools to optimize driver schedules and streamline operations.
